Overview

The Capital suite of tools contains a product line particularly focused on the design and manufacture of wiring harnesses for the automotive and aerospace industries. The tools in this domain enable the following harness related activities:

Design & Definition

  • Product Engineering
  • Material and Labour costing
  • Production assembly board (Formboard) design
  • Manufacturing process design

  • Structured bill of process creation

  • Line balancing
  • Work instruction generation

For all tools in the Capital suite, collateral is required to:

  • Present the benefits of the tools
  • Present the capabilities of the individual functions of the tools
  • Enable the Mentor sales and field engineering teams to present and demonstrate the tools
  • Enable the customers to use the tools

Mentor is now recruiting a person to create such collateral and training material and also deliver the related training sessions to the Mentor field personnel

Job Duties:

  • Working with the product architects and development team, become an expert user of each of the tools in the Harness Design and Manufacture suite, maintaining this knowledge with each release of additional functionality
  • Create marketing collateral (typically PowerPoint) that explains the domain challenges and how they are addressed by the functionality
  • Create & maintain training course material for the products and ongoing enhancements

  • PowerPoint & Video recording in accordance with the Mentor on-line training standards

  • Create and maintain datasets for use with the training course material
  • Pro-actively create ‘How-to’ collateral for key topics/functions for sharing on the Mentor user community website
  • Documents/PowerPoints/demonstration videos
  • Monitor the Mentor internal and customer user community websites for HDM related items, providing answers and suitable ‘How-to’ collateral as required
  • As Mentor is a global organization, international travel will occasionally be required in order to present material/deliver training courses at other sites

Relationships

  • Based in the Altrincham (Manchester) office, reporting to the Product Line Director you will be guided directly by the three Product Architects responsible for the HDM tools.

Job Qualifications:

Skill and Competencies

  • A passion for using computer aided engineering tools paired with a desire to learn how to get the best out of them and then efficiently share that knowledge
  • An ability and flair to create professional, engaging collateral
  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experienced user of the Capital tool suite is a bonus although full training will be given
  • Experience with Automotive or Aerospace electrical wiring harness design/manufacturing is desirable
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills are a must
  • Additional language skills is a bonus
